The Russian Academy of Arts presents the jubilee retrospective of works by the People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, internationally recognized master of decorative art Lyubov Savelieva. The solo show comprises the artist’s works of various years including art glass, ceramics and graphic sheets.

“Glass is an amazing material, I perceive it as spiritual space in which it is possible to go to the infinity” – says Lyubov Savelieva. The artist’s ability to improvise and  perfect sense of material are the most valuable facets of her talent. Her work is easily recognizable weather it be art glass, ceramics, fire clay, paintings or graphic sheets.

Lyubov Savelieva was born in 1940 in Moscow. She has been actively involved in exhibition activity since her graduation fr om S. Stroganov Moscow Academy of Arts and Industry in 1966. Her first works were produced in the Dyatkovo Crystal Plant. In 1974-1978 she worked at “Red May” crystal factory where she created her famous composition “Sokolniki” hand painted with silicate paints. Many works of the 2010-s were made by the combination of glass with metal (copper).  The figures hand cut from copper plates are fused inside the glass wh ere they live in their own space. Of major interest is her innovative genre of “poem-graphics” when verses are accompanied by graphic drawings thus forming a single whole of special emotional power.

The work of Lyubov Savelieva has been appreciated by prestigious prizes and awards and was exhibited at numerous Russian and international art shows, competitions and symposiums. Her works are in collections of major museums in Russia and CIS countries, as well as in art collections in USA, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden and other countries.
