After the Revolution of 1917 for 23 years he was a senior priest of the Russian Church of Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois cemetery, located 30 km fr om Paris. His mother Anna Juon is a daughter of the famous Swiss composer Pavel Juon and a niece of the distinguished Russian painter Constantine Juon.

Gabriel Juon-Erguine studied in the Jesuit’s Lyceum in Meudon then continued his  education in Sorbonne, wh ere he majored in literature and in the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations. He was actively involved in the teaching activity and foreign policy. In 1992 Gabriel Juon-Erguine was awarded the high French order L’Ordre National du Merite.

Since his childhood Gabriel has been keen on painting. For several years he studied at the Louvre’s school for gifted children. In 1994, having finished the civil service Gabriel Juon-Erguine devoted himself to art and created his original style. His canvases are remarkable for joie de vivre, the exuberance of colors and lightness of the manner of painting that are a result of his constant search for new compositional and color solutions. His work organically combines traditions of  French masters of painting and Russian art.

His numerous solo shows have been held both in France and Russia. Gabriel Juon-Erguine actively participated in charitable auctions for leukemia children  organized by Raisa Gorbacheva Foundation. His works are in museums in Russia and France, as well as in private collections in Austria, Italy, Russia, France, the United States, Mexico, Argentina and other countries. The artist is a holder of the Gold Order of Paul I, Pushkin’s Medal To the Zealot of Enlightenment of the Academy of Russian Literature. He says: “For me the creation of a painting is always a quest for God. A dialogue with God. And when you are in search of God, you will find a man. Then people are touched by your painting”.
