Solo Show of Works by the Honored Artist of Russia Oleg Molchanov at the Russian Academy of Arts

The Russian Academy of Arts presents a solo exhibition of the Honored Artist of Russia, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Oleg Molchanov featuring the artist’s paintings of recent years. Continuing the traditions of the Russian realistic landscape painting Oleg Molchanov creates a lyric image of Russia depicting the poetry of Russian nature.

He was born in 1966 in the Kostroma region, graduated from the Yaroslavl Art College and I. Repin St. Petersburg State Academy Institute of Painting, Sculpture and architecture. Since 1997 – Member of the Artists’ Union of Russia. Since 2000 Oleg Molchanov has been participating in the restoration of the Church of Sergi of Radonezh in the Vysoko-Petrovsky Monastery in Moscow, in 2013 – in the construction of the chapel “The Tsar’s Calvary” in the Ipatiev outskirts of the town of Kostroma. The artist is a trustee of the Church of Apostle John the Theologian in Kostroma.

Oleg Molchanov is a participant of art exhibitions in Russia, Germany, United States, Montenegro and other countries. Solo shows of Oleg Molchanov were held in Bremen and Hamburg, Washington, Moscow, Kiev and Kursk. His delicate, full of spirituality canvases are distinguished with the in-depth penetration into the Russian landscape. According to the artist, through his art he wants to show at least in a small degree the pure, innermost image of his Motherland and secret currents of beauty and power of Russian nature.
