The Russian Academy of Arts presents a major retrospective of the celebrated fashion designer, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Vyacheslav Zaitsev who is marking this year fifty years of his devotion to Art.

Painting has always existed in his creative life as a facet of his multi-sided talent.  The principle theme of his creative work is Woman – Perfection. Visitors will see seventeen selected ensembles of the Master’s most well-known fashion collections: “Invasion” (2002), “Nostalgia for the Gone Times” (2005), “Phantasmagoria” (2006),  “The Beginnings” (2008), “Nostalgia” (2012); his stage costumes for more than two dozens of performances of leading Moscow theaters, sketches for  theatrical plays of the 1970s-1980s, as well as pictures brilliantly made with his favorite pencil, pastel and soft-tip pen and full of rare spirituality.    

Today, Vyacheslav Zaitsev is enthusiastically working with new digital technologies. The surrounding world transformed into a computer reality, modified and filled with new philosophical meanings is obtaining an all-sufficient artistic value. The Master’s creative experiments have been realized in textile and images of his new fashion collections.
