You Should Be in Italy Even if You Have to Walk There: Exhibition at the Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts

Organized by the Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts (17 University Embankment, St. Petersburg), the major exhibition comprises three centuries of Russian-Italian Cultural Ties and presents works from the rich collection of the Research Museum.

The Titian and Blue Halls showcase water colors of Russian architects, paintings and drawings by the best graduates of the Imperial Academy of Arts such as Ivan Martos, Modest Durnov, Alexander Bryullov who perfected their skills in Italy in the 18th-20th century. On display in the Raphael Hall are works by our contemporaries – teachers of I. Repin St. Petersburg State Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture inspired by Italy.
