Solo Show of Works by the Honored Artist of Russia Victor Rusanov at the Russian Academy of Arts

The exhibition at the Russian Academy of Arts features almost 100 works by the noted Moscow painter, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts.

On show are the artist’s genre compositions, portraits, landscapes, still lifes produced by him from 1975 till the present. Victor Rusanov was born in Nikolaev in 1950. He finished the Ryazan Art School in 1969. In 1969-1975 he studied at V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute where he majored in painting under D.D. Zhilinsky, A.M. Gritsay, S.N. Shilnikov. Since 1976 Victor Rusanov has been a Member of the Artists’ Union of Russia.

Victor Rusanov is a master of big canvases with a plot resulting from the artist’s thoughtful work. His paintings resemble stained glasses or mosaic panels depicting the richness, poetry and beauty of the surrounding world. The variety of linear rhythms and color chords makes his canvases similar to musical works.

Victor Rusanov combines his creative work with a teaching activity in V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute.

The artist’s paintings are in collections of a number of major Russian museums including the State Tretyakov Gallery and the State Russian Museum, as well as in private collections.
