The Green Island. Painting, Sculpture. Graphic Art: Exhibition at the Russian Academy of Arts

The Green Island is a creative unity of painters, graphic artists, sculptors and artists of applied art, who are advocates of contemporary art in all its diversity and stylistic polyphony. The organizers of the exhibition are: a Corresponding Members of the Russian Academy of Arts H.K. Nogaev, Head of the Board of Directors of the “Komstroy” Association of Construction Organizations N. Midibor; Honored Artist of Russia A.S. Legostaev.

The Green Island is a mysterious island, the most esoteric place in the city of Rostov-on-the Don. Organized by the Honored Artist of Russia A.S. Legostaev, the first exhibition of the Green Island was opened in 1994.

On show at the Russian Academy of Arts are paintings, graphic sheets, sculptures, works of decorative and applied arts by representatives of the realistic direction such as E.I. Zverkov, E.N. Maximov, N.I. Borovsky, N.N. Solomin, A.I. Michry and artists who are in search of new forms and techniques to express the problems of today’s life such as K.V. Khudyakov, A.S. Legostaev, A.I. Mayorov, Y.H. Abisalov and others.

The artists of the group belong to different generations, have diverse experience in art, supplementing each other they show the variety of tendencies in the contemporary art and believe, that their works will give rise to reflections on the problems of today’s life.
