Abstract Reality: Show of Works by Mukhadin Kishev in Togliatti

On display in “Art Plaza” gallery in Togliatti are fifty paintings and drawings by the People’s Artist of Kabardin-Balkar Republic, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Mukhadin Kishev whose works are known in Russia and many other countries. This year in honor of the artist’s 70th anniversary his solo shows have already been held in London, Seville and Moscow.

Mukhadin Kishev’s creative work is distinguished by a brilliant individual style. Much influenced by the culture of the Orient, rich art traditions of his native Kabardin-Balkaria, as well as contemporary western stylistic directions the artist has created his own pictorial language representing an unusual alloy of styles and technical skills. In his creative searches Mukhadin Kishev combines reality and abstraction making the pictorial basis in many of his canvases. His boundless fantasy and vivid imagination are the reflection of the artist’s inner world. The master’s abstract compositions are sometimes mysterious and bring various associations, but they are far from being a chaotic conglomeration of forms. “It is not a chaos of spots and colors, but a well thought-out composition having its own rhythms” – as Victor Vanslov, Doctor of Art History, Member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts put it.
