The Russian Academy of Arts, Austrian Cultural Forum in Moscow and Kunstmuseum Waldviertel (Austria) present sixty paintings by Prof., Mag.Arch. Efthymios Makis Warlamis produced in various media. Efthymios Makis Warlamis is one of the most extraordinary architects and artists of today. In his works Warlamis “melts” the legacy of different times and cultures in harmonious universal life spaces.

Efthymios Makis Warlamis was born in Greece in 1942. Architect, artist, designer, teacher. For over 45 years  he has been living and working in Austria. He studied architecture at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Since 1974, simultaneously with his teaching activity in a number of European universities,  Efthymios Makis Warlamis has been a participant in numerous exhibitions in many cities of Europe, Asia and the United States, implemented experimental art and city architecture projects. He is much interested in problems of experimental and ecological architecture relating to the construction of nature-oriented buildings. Warlamis has been involved in several major theme cycles. He is a founder and head of the International Center for Art and Design in the Lower Austria and Art Museum in the region of Waldviertel (das Kunstmuseum Waldviertel). Efthymios Warlamis has been honored with many international awards and prizes.

In his works Warlamis tries to combine art and architecture, to create objects of architecture that are in harmony with the nature.  He tries to introduce poetry into architecture as if opposing his creative work to the relatively one-sided, functional, (de)-constructivist agenda of the modern mainstream architecture.  The poetry, fantastic realism, Bauhaus and anthropomorphous architectural utopia appear in his diverse improvisations.

One hundred years ago Le Corbusier and L’Esprit Nouveau solving a number of social problems introduced into the architecture a powerful rational principle. Warlamis believes, that it is time to search for new prospects and ways of architecture development, its more close contact with life and harmony of nature, interior, design.
