Sculptures by Igor Kozlov on Show in the Russian Academy of Arts

The Russian Academy of Arts presents a major solo show of sculptures by the Honored Artist of Russia Igor Kozlov. The exhibition surveys the sculptor’s career showcasing his sculptural works of various years produced in diverse materials.

Igor Kozlov graduated from V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute in 1982 where he majored in sculpture under Prof. M. Baburin. Kozlov works in various types and genres of contemporary sculpture. The sculptor’s talent is powerful and temperamental, he is constantly looking for new forms, themes and materials.  On display are his easel compositions and portraits.  As a master of monumental plastic art Igor Kozlov has been involved in recreation of the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow.  His monuments can be seen in Kazan, Moscow, Yerres (France), he is an author of memorial plaques commemorating  test pilot M. L. Gallai, aircraft designer and head of the design bureau A.S. Yakovlev, aircraft designer V.P. Glushko and others.

Igor Kozlov has been a participant of international competitions in Russia, Armenia, Yugoslavia, Germany, Turkey. In 1986 the sculptor was awarded a silver medal of the Russian Academy of Arts. His works are in museum and private collections in Russia and other countries.
