Solo Show of Paintings by Konstantine Petrov in the Exhibition Halls of the Russian Academy of Arts

The exhibition features over 30 genre compositions, portraits, still lives of the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Konstantin Petrov.

Having inherited a valuable creative experience of his father, a recognized master of graphic art Vitaly Petrov-Kamchatsky,  the artist has created his own style based on a spatial dialogue between light and shadow. In his works there is an abundance of details contributing to the generalization of images. The artist often paints old things of everyday life – samovars, kettles, irons underlying their aesthetic value and revealing the inner interactions in the world of things.

The real life in his landscapes is transformed by the artist’s fantasy, he confirms the expressiveness of the pictorial surface, the splash of color and the material substance of objects. The artist’s pictorial temperament showed itself vividly in his portraits where he penetrates the depth of the human soul, conveys not only the appearance, but the spirit.
