Solo Exhibition of Paintings by Vera Mylnikova in the Academy Museum in St. Petersburg

The solo exhibition brings together works by Vera Mylnikova, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, head of the Academy’s Easel Painting Workshop in St. Petersburg.

Vera Mylnikova graduated from I. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture where she majored in monumental painting under her father Andrei Mylnikov. Since 1978 she has been a member of the USSR Union of Artists. In 1984 the artist participated in the “Autumn Salon” in Paris. She has been a frequent exhibitor in many Russian and international group exhibitions. Her solo shows were held in Hamburg (1992),  Paris (1994, 1995), at the Academy Museum in St. Petersburg (2001).  In 2003 Vera Mylnikova was awarded a Silver Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts.

Vera Mylnikova is an author of both easel and monumental works including tapestry for the reception hall of the House of  Soviets of the Russian Federation, mosaic panel for the Institute of Medicine in Cheboksary,  painting of the plafond  for the Institute of Agriculture in Novosibirsk. The artist’s portraits, still lives, landscapes, stained glasses and paintings reveal her innate feeling of harmony and musicality. Traditions of realism are combined in her work with tireless searches for new plastic structures. The pictorial and emotional expression, skill in composition, diversity of colors are the most distinguished features of her works that are of constant interest to the public.

Vera Mylnikova’s work is represented in many public and private collection in Russia, France, Germany, the United States, Poland, Spain and Sweden including the Russian Museum and others.
