Solo Exhibition of Works by Zurab Tsereteli in Plovdiv
The solo exhibition of works by President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli is being held in the Art Gallery in Plovdiv within the framework of the Days of Russia in Bulgaria and is a major retrospective of the artist’s paintings, drawings, sculpture and enamels on the eve of his jubilee in January, 2009.
The display explores the rich variety of genres and techniques of the master who is well known for his extensive experiments. The intense interest in real life and his keen perception of the world are expressed with great force in his canvases. They show a dynamic psychologism and wealth of compositional and color treatment.
The exposition is supported by photographs of Zurab Tsereteli’s unique monuments adorning streets and squares, public and office buildings in many cities throughout the world.
