On the Watch of Law and Order: Exhibition in V. Vereshagin Studio of Artists

On November 7, 2008 V. Vereshagin Studio of Artists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs presented an exhibition timed to the Police Day in Russia. Paintings by I.S. Araslanov, Y.A. Orlov, O.A. Leonov, Y.A. Smirnova, A.I. Teslik, V.A. Sundukov, A.A. Shumeiko, I.A. Ivashenko, graphic works by V.Y. Zhelvakov, G.D. Koptsov, I.G. Mikhailov, O.B. Tuchina depict the history of Russian Police and everyday service of policemen. On show are pictorial and sculptural portraits of veterans and young officers who devoted their life to the protection of law and order.

Set up in 1969, the Studio has been headed by Anatoli Bichukov, People’s Artist of Russia, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts, Rector of V. Surikov State Academy Art Institute.
