Artworks by Igor Burganov Are on Show in the Russian Academy of Arts

The Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Igor Burganov is a talented successor of traditions of the Burganov dynasty.  The exposition of sculptures and artworks by Igor Burganov in exhibition halls of the Russian Academy of Arts proves the diversity and expressiveness of his creative hand. The artist is an acknowledged master of installations and performances. The glow and coloring of his images are achieved by his bright palette and amazing combination of objects.

Burganov’s style can be easily recognized in today’s Moscow. The sculptural image of the Blue Bird has been used by the artist in the design of North Butovo district, children’s park in Philly, in the landscape of the New Olympic Village.  Igor Burganov participated in the rebirth of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, created reliefs for Bratislavskaya subway station.

Igor Burganov is a noted master of sculptural portraits, among them are sculptures of Patriarch Alexy II, Emperor Nicholas II, poet Fiedor Tyutchev, Moscow Prince Dmitry Donskoi.   

Igor Burganov is also known for his canvases. Continuing the traditions of the Russian avante-garde of the 1920s, he gives his personal interpretation in such paintings as Café, Music, Autumn Landscape, Sunny Day in the Fall, Vitality, Location of Planets.   

On  show are ten carpets handmade on Igor Burganov’s designs. The artist produced numerous cartoons for tapestries.  On July 14th, 2008 Igor Burganov will turn 35.
