Enamel Fantasies about Peter and Paul Fortress

Organized to mark the 100th anniversary of St. Petersburg History Museum, the exhibition presents enamels depicting reflections of eminent and young artists from Russia, informs NTV.

Of special interest are enamel works by Zurab Tsereteli, President of the Russian Academy of Arts and by Alexei Toloschuk, Head of St. Petersburg State Art-Industrial Academy. Enamel is one of the most time and labor consuming metalworking techniques. Each enamel work must be burnt in the kiln at the temperature of 850 degrees about 30 times, that is why artists modestly say, that they are only joint authors of the fire elements.
