Exhibition of Works by Vasily Nesterenko in Tyumen Museum of Fine Arts
From June 11 to July 12, 2008 the Tyumen Museum of Fine Arts will host an exhibition of historical canvases, portraits, landscapes, icons and other works by the People’s Artist of Russia, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Vasily Nesterenko. “I wanted my solo exhibition in Tyumen to be spiritual, as the city of Tyumen is a spiritual center of Siberia. In Siberia there have been many saints such as Nil Stolbenski, German Alyaskinski, Innokenti Irkutski” – said the artist. He hopes that his first acquaintance with the Siberian land is sure to result in new artworks.
