The 5th Moscow Welcomes Friends International Festival in Tsereteli Art Gallery

On May 28, 2008 in Tsereteli Art Gallery (19 Prechistenka street, Moscow) opened an exhibition of children’s works and was held a concert of laureates of the 5th Moscow Welcomes Friends International Festival arranged by Vladimir Spivakov International Charitable Foundation.

The President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli said in his greeting to participants of the Festival: “It is a great happiness to see gifted children who are sincere in their joy. The truth that children are our future may sound banal, but it is really so, as it is children who can perform a miraculous healing even when there is no hope for it.  The language of art is a boundless space where love and soul’s joy prevail.  I do believe that it is Love that will defeat evil and violence”.

For four years of its existence, the Festival has become an annual holiday for young talents, more than six thousands of young gifted artists, performers  and dancers from 60 countries and 70 regions of Russia have taken part in it. The Festival is held under the auspices of the United Nations, UNESCO and Jeunesses Musicales International.
