Works by Anatoli Lyubavin Have Been Exhibited In the Orthodox Pilgrim Center of Moscow Patriarchy
The exhibition of paintings and drawings by People’s Artist of Russia, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Anatoli Lyubavin was held in the Orthodox Pilgrim Center of Moscow Patriarchy in late March – early April, 2008. The display entitled Family Album has been dedicated to the Year of Family in Russia.
The principle topic of the artist’s creative work is a family image, a spiritual connection between relatives, the beauty of human relations with the nature.
For the artist, the family is a symbol of longevity and adherence to traditions. The traditions are embodied in deep notions and general principles which are filled by the master with his own original inflexion. Anatoli Lyubavin does not take his motifs in distant lands, he depicts his home environment: his wife, two daughters and his family people have become prototypes of characters of his works.
Most often, Lyubavin creates series of graphic works conceived as poetic or musical cycles, where each drawing expresses definite feelings or spirits. To the family theme have been dedicated his series In the Country, Autumn Dream, Evenings in Savino Village, etc. The family life is understood by the artist as an integral creative process where “everything is correlated and in rhyme”. Lyubavin portrays everyday topics, at the same time creating a special space in which the ordinary is turned into uncommon.
