Watercolors by Alexei Shmarinov Are on Display in the Russian Academy of Arts

 To mark the 75th anniversary of the People’s Artist of Russia, winner of I. Repin State Prize of RF, Member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts Alexei Shmarinov, the Russian Academy of Arts, 21 Prechistenka street, presents a display of over 100 watercolors produced by the master in various years.  The  highlight is his Russia is my Love series that has already been on show in Russia and other countries.

Alexei Shmarinov is a prominent master of graphic easel art and book illustrations. Well-known are cycles of his works and illustrated collections in honor of the heroic past of Russia as well as big series of watercolors honored by the golden medal of the Russian Academy of Arts.

His solo exhibitions have won a big success in many countries. Alexei Shmarinov is a corresponding member of the Austrian Association of Figures of Arts, a winner of the prestigious prize named after the celebrated German collector  Peter Ludwig, a corresponding member of the International Munich Press-Club. The first solo exhibition of his works in Germany in 1981 was appreciated by a silver medal of the Prime Minister of Bavaria F. Straus. In 2005, for his contribution to fine arts Alexei Shmarinov was awarded  a high prize of the Kunstlerhaus Society of Artists – the Golden  Laurel.

Works by Alexei Shmarinov can be seen in the State Tretyakov Gallery, State Russian Museum, A. Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts and other major  museums and  private collections.
