The United Nations Headquarters in New York Host an Exhibition of Works by the Honored Artist of Russia Gennadi Dobrov in Memory of Holocaust Victims
On January 17, 2008 in the United Nations Headquarters in New York was inaugurated an exhibition of works by the Honored Artist of Russia, Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Gennadi Dobrov who in 1994-2000 repeatedly visited the former fascist concentration camps in Poland, Czechia and Germany. The grief and bitterness experienced by him in those trips has been mirrored in his paintings.
The opening of the exposition entitled Sketches in Memory of Holocaust Victims and Their Liberators was held in the presence of representatives of the American Associations of Veterans of World War II, survivors of Holocaust, diplomats. The exhibition has been arranged within the United Nations program of events dated for the International Memory Day of Holocaust Victims on January 27, 2008. After that, the display will be shown in Boston University.
