Exhibition of Works by Theatre Designer Michael Kurilko-Ryumin in Honor of His 85 Anniversary

On February 2, 2008 to mark the 85th anniversary of People’s Artist of Russia,  Chief Scientific Secretary of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts, Academician, Professor Michael Kurilko-Ryumin, the Russian Academy of Arts presents an exhibition of  works by this recognized master of theatre design and decorative art.
A  connoisseur of Russian culture, Michael  Kurilko-Ryumin  adores and devoted himself to the fascinating world of theatre.  For six decades of his work he has made designs for over 160 drama- and opera performances in many theatres of this and other countries.
On show are sketches of dйcor and scale models for theatrical plays created by the master for the past three years: for Rigoletto opera by Verdi in Opera and Ballet Theatre in Ufa; for Carmen opera by Bizet in Opera and Ballet Theatre in Krasnoyarsk; for Toska opera by G. Puccini in Opera and Ballet Theatre in Ekaterinburg; decorations for Hamlet by Shakespeare in the Army Theatre in Moscow; for the 2-nd Avenue Prisoner in Anton Chekhov Theatre in Moscow.
