Show of Works by Bolivian Artist Cecilia Vilde in Tsereteli Art Gallery

Organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Bolivia in Russia in association with the Russian Academy of Arts the exhibition in Tsereteli Art Gallery features paintings by the noted Bolivian artist Cecilia Vilde.

Cecilia Vilde graduated from San Andrew’s University in La Paz, studied fine arts in Sorbonne, France. Since 1985, her paintings have been exhibited in the United States, Canada, Spain, Great Britain, Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador, Chile, China, Taiwan. The artist has taken part in several international biennales.

Cecilia Vilde’s canvases are a free interpretation of the cultural legacy and traditions of a small in number people living in the north of Bolivia at the height of 3000 meters above sea level.

The works on display in Tsereteli Art Gallery have been inspired by fabrics of the Andes, its magic vigor and capacity to mirror the life of the American Indians whose mythology confirms the harmony of nature and a man, mutual correlation between all living beings. The artist does not copy old masters of textile, she provides her own vision inviting visitors to admire a wonderful world of beauty and concord.
