Exhibition of Works by Nominees for the 2007 Central Federal District Prize in Literature and Arts

     November 26 through December 12, 2007. On show in the exhibition halls of the Russian Academy of Arts (21 Prechistenka street, Moscow) will be a display of works by nominees for the 2007 Central Federal District Prize in Literature and Arts. The annual Prize for the most distinguished works of literature and arts was initiated in 2004 by the Russian President’s Plenipotentiary in the Central Federal District Georgi Poltavchenko.
     The exhibition explores landscapes, portraits, genre paintings, historical canvases, sculptural compositions, photographs, works of applied art by 212 nominees from 18 regions of Russia.
     Aimed at fostering literature and arts in Russian regions, the annual Central Federal District Prize is a cultural action held under the auspices of regional governors and public figures.
     The 2007 Prize will be awarded in the Russian Academy of Arts on the Constitution Day on December 12, 2007.
