On December 13, 2012 in the Volga Region Branch of the State Center of Modern Art (Nizhni Novgorod, Arsenal, Kremlin, building 6) there was an opening of a solo show of the People’s Artist of the USSR and Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Zurab Tsereteli.

From December 1-25, 2012 the Kaluga House of Music hosts a solo show of works by the People’s Artist of the USSR and Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli. The highlights of the display are his 3D enamels, graphic sheets and small plastic works.

Within the Days of Bulgarian Spiritual Culture in Russia to be held from November 18 – 25, 2012, at the award ceremony in the Bolshoi Theater, on November 18, 2012 the highest award of the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture “The Golden Century” was presented to the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli and Director-General of the Bolshoi Theater Anatoly Iksanov.

On November 17, 2012 within the International Day of Tolerance Tsereteli Art Gallery hosted an award ceremony for the Grand-Prix of the 3rd International Festival of Spiritual Music “Crystal Chapel”. It was attended by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli, Vice-President of the RAA Andrey Zolotov, President of the Slavic Foundation of Russia and Member of the Public Chamber of the RF Galina Bogolyubova, representatives of religious confessions, diplomatic missions of countries-participants in Days of Slavic Culture, public figures.

On November 6, 2012 in the Central House of Artists (10 Krymsky Val, Moscow) there was an opening of a major exhibition of the Moscow Union of Artists devoted to the 80th anniversary of this creative entity. On the threshold of the 20th anniversary of the European Union in the North-East of France in Scy-Chazelles, Lorraine, Department of Moselle there was an unveiling ceremony for a monument to the founding fathers of the European Union. The author of the monument is Zurab Tsereteli, People’s Artist of the USSR and Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador who presented his sculptural composition as a gift to the French people.

On October 9, 2012 the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli and members of the Academy’s Presidium visited I. Repin St. Petersburg State Academy Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture to take part in the International Research Conference “Modern Problems of Academic Education of Art Historians” devoted to the 75th anniversary of its Department of Theory and History of Arts. Zurab Tsereteli welcomed the Conference participants and presented the Academy’s Letter of Greetings to the head of the Department.

On October 4, 2012 Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, hosted the 2nd International Humanitarian Forum involving politicians, scientists and figures of culture from 70 countries and seven major international organizations. For a short period of time the Forum had become a competent platform of world scale for the search of responses to global challenges and solutions for problems of humanitarian collaboration.
