The Chapel of St. Nicholas Recreated under the Supervision of the Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Nickolai Mukhin Was Consecrated in Rybinsk

On September 3, 2011 in Rybinsk there was a consecration of the Chapel of St. Nicholas the Miracle Worker reconstructed in 2010-2011 under the supervision of the Member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Nickolai Mukhin. He has recreated twenty seven monumental icons for the facades of the Chapel built in 1867, closed and heavily damaged in 1926-1927.

The ceremony that took place on the Day of the City of Rybinsk was attended by the archbishop of Yaroslavl and Rostov Panteleimon, Governor of the Yaroslavl Region S.A. Vakhrukov, the Mayor of Rybinsk Y.V. Lastochkin, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli. The project has been executed according to only one photograph available and highly appreciated by the attendees.
