The Russian Academy Of Arts

On March 15, 2011 the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli presented awards of the Russian Academy of Arts to noted figures of art. The Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Professor, Head of the Chair of Sculpture and Composition of the Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, Head of the Creative Workshop Salavat Scherbakov and People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts, Member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts, Member of the Presidium of the Russian President’s Council for Culture and Art Andrey Kovalchuk had been honored with the Order of the Russian Academy of Arts – Golden Cross “For Services to Art”.

They have been decorated for the project of the monument “We Were United in the Struggle Against Fascism”, unveiled in the War Memorial on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow on December 21, 2010. The monument is a replica of the Memorial of Glory - monument to Soviet soldiers–winners in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 destroyed in Kutaisi.

The noted businessman, politician, collector Umar Dzhabrailov has been presented with the Medal for Contribution to the Promotion of Russian Art and elected a member of the Trustees Council of the Foundation of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
