The Award Ceremony for 2010 Prize in Literature and Arts of the Central Federal District

On December 11, 2010 in the White Hall of the Russian Academy of Arts, 21 Prechistenka street, Moscow there was an award ceremony for the Central Federal District Prize in Literature and Arts. The annual Prize for the most distinguished works in literature and arts was initiated seven years ago by the Russian President’s Plenipotentiary in the Central Federal District Georgi Poltavchenko.

The First Prize was awarded to nine authors and creative teams selected by the expert jury out of over 200 nominees from 18 regions of Russia. The ceremony was attended by the Russian President’s Plenipotentiary in the Central Federal District Georgi Poltavchenko, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli, Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Russia Valery Ganichev, Deputy Minister of Culture Andrey Busyghin, People’s Artist of the USSR Vasily Lanovoy, governors of the Central Russia regions, noted figures of culture and art.
