Inspiration of Paolo Trubetskoy and International Sculpture Space: Lecture and Masterclass by the Italian Professor Rosanna Cioffi

The Russian Academy of Arts and the Italian Institute of Culture invite you to attend a lecture and masterclass “Inspiration of Paolo Trubetskoy and International Sculpture Space” by the Italian Professor Rosanna Cioffi (Second University of Naples, Italy) to be held in the White Hall of the Russian Academy of Arts on November 9, 2010 at 11.00 am.

Rosanna Cioffi is a rector and Professor of History of Critical Art at the Second University of Naples (Seconda Universita di Napoli). For many yeas she has been specializing in art theory and history, the 18th – 19th century painting and sculpture, problems of preservation of cultural heritage. Rosanna Cioffi has more than 60 public works including books, articles, transcripts of her lectures at various conferences. Among her most significant research works are: The Intellect of Art: The Theory and Criticism in Works by Anton Raphael Mengs and Johann Joachim Winckelmann, Naples, 1982; Chapel of Sansevero. The Baroque Art and Freemason’s Ideology, Selerno, 1987 and 1994; The Royal Palace. A Century’s History of Reggia di Caserta (1752-1860). Milan, 2004. Rosanna Cioffi heads the National Committee for Celebration of the French Decade in Naples (1806-1815). For her achievements in the research of the interaction between the French and Italian Art Rosanna Cioffi was honored by the French President Nicolas Sarcozy with the highest award – Chevalier of the National Order of the Legion of Honor. At present, Professor Cioffi is involved in the National Interest Research Project (PRIN - Progetti di ricerca di interesse nationale) that deals with magazines devoted to the 19th – 20th century art, works for the major European project uniting ten Spanish universities aimed at the study of the history of the cultural and ecological heritage.
