Unveiling Ceremony for Memorial Plaque Commemorating People’s Artist of the USSR Mikhail Ulyanov

A memorial plaque commemorating Mikhail Ulyanov, People’s Artist of the USSR, Artistic Director of E. Vahtangov Theatre in 1987-2007 was unveiled on the house where he lived from 1972 until 2007, 29 Bolshaya Bronnaya street, Moscow. The plaque of bronze and granite has been designed by Andrei Balashov, Honored Artist of Russia,  Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts.

 

The notable Russian actor Mikhail Ulyanov played in over 70 films. In the course of his acting career spanning over 50 years Ulyanov received numerous Soviet and Russian awards and decorations including the Order of Lenin (twice), the Order of October Revolution, Order for Services to Motherland 3rd Rank and was awarded the Lenin Prize and State Prize of the USSR. 

 

He died on March 26, 2007 and was laid to rest in Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.
