Memorial Plaque Commemorating the Nobel Prize Winner Michael Sholokhov Was Unveiled in the Editorial Office of “MK” Newspaper in Moscow

A memorial plaque commemorating the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature Michael Sholokhov was unveiled in the lobby of the editorial office of “MK” newspaper on September 23, 2009. It has been designed by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli and Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Alexander Mirianashvili. 

 

Many well-known pressmen and novelists have begun their creative careers in “MK” (Moskovskiy Komsomolets) daily. The newspaper was the first to publish first feature stories and Tales from the Don by Michael Sholokhov who later became a winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature.

 

The ceremony was attended by the authors of the memorial plaque, noted journalists, writers and publishers.
