The Order of Friendship Was Awarded to Andrei Zolotov

Through the edict of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, the Order of Friendship was awarded to Andrei Zolotov, the Honored Worker of Art of the Russian Federation, Member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts, adviser to the Director-General of RIA Novosti news agency “for his services in the field of culture, press, broadcasting and long-term creative work”.

Andrei Zolotov was born in 1937 in Moscow. In 1961 he graduated from the faculty of journalism of M. Lomonosov Moscow State University. In 1990 – 1992 Andrei Zolotov was a Deputy Minister of Culture of the USSR. In 1986-1990 he worked as a political observer for press agency “News”. Since 1994 Zolotov has been an adviser to the Director-General of RIA Novosti news agency.

Professor Andrei Zolotov has been honored with the Order of Honor and a State Prize of the Russian Federation. He is a Full Member of the National Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Russia. Small planet №8142 was named after Zolotov (The Certificate of the Russian Academy of Sciences, August, 1998).
