The Russian Academy of Arts presents a solo exhibition of works by the Honored Artist of Russia and the Republic of Bashkortostan, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Rashit Khabirov. The exhibition is part of the project “The Origins. Ufa – Moscow- Vyshny Volochek” that is timed to the artist’s 70th jubilee and is being held under the auspices of the Culture Ministry of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Regional Department of the Artists’ Union of Russia. Rashit Khabirov in his works has united the traditions of the centuries old culture of his people, the fundamentals of the Academic school and the principles of the Russian realistic art. The synthesis of the modern plastic language and the traditional Bashkir culture, which became the basis for the artist’s art, have much influenced the promotion and study of the original national art of Bashkiria.

Khabirov was born on July 13, 1953 in Sterlitamak of the Bashkir Republic. In the early 1970s after his study in the Art School in Ufa, where he spent his childhood, and the Moscow Art School Rashit Khabirov successfully graduated from V. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute and returned to Ufa. The deep knowledge obtained by the artist through the classic academic education contributed to the improvement of his individuality and professional skills.

In the early years of his creative career the artist was keen on the study of different color and shade conditions of nature in various seasons of the year. In 1983 with a group of young artists for the first time he visited the famous House of Art “I. Repin Academic Dacha” in the Tver Region which became his favorite place for working in the open air. Constantly perfecting his mastery in depicting nature the artist applies diverse means of expression combining the methods of realism with elements of impressionism, his artistic vision of space with the panoramic and epic worldview. The spiritual and aesthetic searches of the artist resulted in his deep interest in portrait painting. In the images of his contemporaries Rashit Khabirov focuses on specific individual traits and spiritual world of his models.

These three cities are three milestones that played a significant role in his becoming a master of fine arts, they have determined the color scheme of his vivid canvases and the deep semantic fullness of the artistic images reflecting the artist’s service to realistic art. Within the jubilee project “Ufa – Moscow – Vyshny Volochek” Rashit Khabirov will give master classes and lectures on academic painting for young artists.
