JUBILEE EXHIBITION OF PAINTINGS AND PROJECTS OF THE PEOPLE’S ARCHITECT OF RUSSIA MIKHAIL POSOKHIN AT THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS

The Russian Academy of Arts presents a solo exhibition of paintings and projects of the People’s Architect of Russia, Academician and Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts Mikhail Posokhin timed to his 75th anniversary.
Mikhail Posokhin is one of the most efficient, influential and experienced Moscow architects, a recognized creator of modern architecture. The Academician of the International Academy of Architecture, Academician of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences, PhD in Architecture, Head of the leading architecture organization “Mosproject-2” named after M.V. Posokhin, Honorary President of the National Association of Developers, Mikhail Posokhin for many years has been in charge of the large-scale reconstruction of the Moscow center. One of the exhibition halls showcases several major objects of architecture, city planning and restoration executed by the master.
At the same time, the main goal of this solo exhibition is to focus on one more side of Mikhail Posokhin’s multi-faceted creative talent. Since his childhood he has been keen on oil painting and has reached professional achievements in this field. His canvases are distinguished by confident brush strokes, unusual angles of compositions and a special author’s view of life. He paints a lot and with love the picturesque nature of the Moscow region (“Aniskino”, 1987; “The View from the Window”, 2016), makes sketches while traveling (“The Mountain Landscape”, 1979; “Spain. Toledo”, 1985; “France. Juan - les- Pins, 2003), creates fantasy compositions and pictures-emotions (“The Abstraction”, 2014). Of special interest are images of his friends and near ones (The Portrait of the Daughter Anastasia”, 2022; “The Portrait of the Wife”, 2022), as well as his self-portraits produced in 2021 and 2022. The visitors will see the author’s several dozens of canvases dating from 1969 till these days. The jubilee exhibition proves the vast circle in interests, extraordinary abilities in painting and an outstanding architectural talent of Mikhail Posokhin.
