Russian Impressions: Solo Exhibition of Paintings by Alexei Shmarinov in Vienna

Organized by the Kunstlerhouse Association of Austrian Artists to mark the 75th anniversary of the People’s Artist of Russia, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Alexei Shmarinov,  the exhibition entitled Russian Impressions  features the artist’s watercolor landscapes of various years.

 

Alexei Shmarinov has been honored with many Russian and international awards, he is a Corresponding Member of the Association of Austrian Artists, Corresponding Member of the International Press Club of Munich. His works are in the collections of major Russian museums including the State Tretyakov Galery, the Russian Museum, Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, as well as in the museums and private collections in Germany, France, the United States, Austria, Japan, Italy, Norway.

 

Alexei Shmarinov is internationally recognized. His solo exhibitions have won a big success in Europe. More than 20 shows of the artist’s works have been held in Germany at its major galleries, this is the third display of his paintings in Austria.  The President of the Kunstlerhouse Association of Austrian Artists Prof. Joachim Lothar Gartner has highly appreciated the artistic merits of Alexel Shmarinov’s paintings and called him a Russian impressionist. He has also noted that the exhibition will promote the cultural ties between Russia and Austria.
