THE PHOTO REPORT FROM THE MASTER CLASS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE RUSSIAN VERSION OF THE SITE
On August 27, 2024 in the Apple Hall of the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts (Tsereteli Art Gallery, 19 Prechistenka street, Moscow) the First Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts Victor G. Kalinin gave a master class in painting for 63 young participants of the 2nd Art Academy of Atomic Cities.
The event started with the guided tour of the permanent exposition of Tsereteli Art Gallery featuring paintings, sculpture, graphic sheets and enamel panels by the People’s Artist of Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli. The attendees have been greeted by the Academicians and Members of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts Victor Kalinin, Manana Popova, Konstantin Petrov, the organizers and curators of the Project. The Project winners have been presented with the Honorary Diplomas. The First Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts gave a master class in painting and shared his experience with the children who in their turn created their own pictures in paints.
“The Art Academy of Atomic Cities” is a complex of educational events for gifted children including master classes, lessons, lectures by eminent figures of culture and art within The Rosatom Territory of Culture program. The project is headed by the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, the People’s Artist of the USSR and Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli and is aimed at revealing and supporting gifted children and teenagers.
This year, the second Art Academy of Atomic Cities took place on August 18 - 28 in the city of Udomlya of the Tver Region. It has involved sixty three children aged 10 to 17 years from 19 cities of the Russian nuclear industry who were selected by the expert jury, as well as teachers of the regional art schools. On August 26, 2024 in Udomlya there was an opening of the final exhibition of pictures, sculptural works, mosaics, ceramics, architectural drawings and models of theatrical decorations produced by the participants. The exhibition was attended by the organizers and the city administration. The Head of the Regional Department of the Russian Academy of Arts Konstantin V. Petrov read out the Greeting Address of the President of the Russian Academy of Art
