The Russian Academy Of Arts

29.01.2024 -

On January 29, 2024 the Chinese artist and photographer, foreign Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Han Yucheng is marking his 70th jubilee.

Han Yucheng is one of the distinguished masters of Chinese painting, winner of numerous international prizes. He belongs to the generation of Chinese artists who rely on the Russian and Soviet realistic school. Han Yucheng’s work has been much influenced by the noted Chinese painter Su Gaoli - pupil of the Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Andrey A. Mylnikov. In 2023, the Russian State Museum in St. Petersburg hosted a solo exhibition of Han Yucheng entitled “The Radiance of Tibet”. The master has presented as a gift to the Russian Museum his two paintings “The Smoke over the Hearth” (2015) and “The Buddha’s Heart Lights up the Sky” (2022) depicting one of the main topics of his work – the everyday life of today’s Tibetan people who are far from the hustle and bustle of big cities and keep the harmony with nature. The sacred sites, Buddhist practices, images of monks and pilgrims are among the focuses in the art of the artist.

The Russian Academy of Arts has congratulated Mr. Han Yucheng on his 70th jubilee. The Letter of Greetings, in particular, runs:
