IN NONOR OF THE 70TH JUBILEE OF THE HONORARY MEMBER OF THE RUSSIAN ACADEMY OF ARTS LI HUI

On February 1, 2023 the Chinese diplomat and public figure, Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Li Hui is marking his 70th jubilee.

The graduate of the Beijing University, Li Hui started his career in 1975 as a diplomat.  For many years Li Hui has worked for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Department of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe; Chinese Embassy in the USSR and the Russian Federation; Department of Eastern Europe  and Central Asia of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. In 2003 – 2008 he was an Assistant to and since 2008 till 2009 – Deputy Foreign Minister of China. In 2009 he was appointed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to  the Russian Federation. Since 2019 – he is a Special Representative of the  Chinese Government for Eurasia.         

 

The Presidium and the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli have congratulated Mr. Li Hui on his 70th Jubilee. The Letter of Greetings, in particular, runs: 

   “Dear Mr. Li Hui,

     Your brilliant career of a diplomat has been largely connected with the work in Russia. During your ten year period in the position of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Russia you have made a great contribution to the promotion of Russian-Chinese relations. For your significant role in strengthening of friendly ties and multilateral cooperation between Russia and China you have been awarded the Russian Order of Friendship.

     The Russian Academy of Arts highly appreciates your efforts in the convergence and mutual enrichment of our cultures, expansion of mutually beneficial contacts between regions of Russia and Chinese provinces, as well as promotion of humanitarian exchanges.  Your personal communication experience and numerous trips across the huge territory of Russia have allowed you to get to know Russia more deeply, to learn the culture and art of this country.

     On behalf of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts I congratulate you on your Jubilee and would like to extend to you our wishes of health, firmness of spirit, success in achieving your goals and in your career, as well as wisdom. “The wise man avoids all extremes”, - Lao-Tzu.
