The Design Department of the Russian Academy of Arts invites you to attend the Research Conference “The Fashion Congress. Russian Design Development”, that will take place in the White Hall of the Russian Academy of Arts on April 7, 2022 at 12.00.
The costume design in Russian art is one of the least studied subjects. In the dictionary of the world fashion houses published in the USA by Eleonor Lambert the section related to Russia and the USSR contains information only about Vyacheslav Zaitsev and some names from the Riga Fashion Houses. However, there is no mention about their predecessors and co-workers involved into the establishment and promotion of the Soviet and Russian school of fashion design. The scientific approach to the study deals with historical and technological aspects of design as a whole, as well as determining the vectors of its development.
