The Russian Academy of Arts and the Graphic Department of the RAA invite you to attend the Research Conference in Honor of the 150th Birth Anniversary of the Academician of the USSR Academy of Arts Anna Ostroumova-Lebedeva (17.05.1871-05.05.1955), that will take place in the White Hall of the Russian Academy of Arts (21 Prechistenka street, Moscow) on June 10, 2021.
The Conference is aimed to study:
-the role and significance of the work by the master of graphic art, Academician of the USSR Academy of Arts Anna Ostroumova-Lebedeva in Russian and international art;
-lesser-known bibliographic facts, introduction of new names and archive materials from private collections related to the creative work of Anna Ostroumova-Lebedeva;
-various aspects of graphic art in the wide context of creativity of the noted Russian engraver, as well as the master’s influence on modern prints, formation of the academic school of graphic art and role of the artist’s work in the history of its development;
-the possibility of using the experience of Ostroumova-Lebedeva, her professional ideas for development of teaching methods at different levels of art education from children’s art schools, colleges to higher educational entities, for preservation and promotion of the academic art school;
- interaction of graphics with other types of fine arts.
The Conference will be accompanied by a display of engravings by Anna Ostroumova-Lebedeva, as well as publication of a collective monograph.
