THE SCULPTURE “CHILDHOOD TAKEN AWAY” WAS PRESENTED AS A GIFT TO THE DELEGATION OF SYRIA

On October 22, 2018 in the Home Church Hall of the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts there was a presentation of the sculpture “Childhood Taken Away” as a gift to the representatives of the delegation of Syria. The sculpture will be handed over to the President of Syria as a symbol of solidarity between peoples of Syria and Russia. The sculpture has been authored by Aliev Adil Aidyn Ogly, a young hard of hearing sculptor, student of V. Surikov Moscow State Art Institute, winner of the 3rd International Festival of Fine Arts “Let’s Give the Globe to Children”.
The ceremony was attended by Riyad Haddad – Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation; Ahmad Badr Al-Din Hassun – Supreme Mufti of the Syrian Arab Republic; Ibrahim Daud – Archimandrite of the Church of Antioch, Abbot of the Church of Cross in Damascus; Arseny Sokolov – Father Superior, representative of the Patriarchate of Moscow and All Russia in the Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East; Zurab Tsereteli – People’s Artist of Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador; Andrey Bobykin – Honored Artist of Russia, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts; Oleg Koshkin – Chief Scientific Secretary of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts; Larisa Gorchakova – President of the International Union of Public Associations “Leaders of the World Community”; Maria Garelina – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Regional Public Organization “Women of Our City”, author and head of the project “Let’s Give the Globe to Children”; Valentina Lantseva – President of the Foundation of St. Apostle Paul and other public and political figures.
