The 10th International  Festival of Fine Arts “Traditions and Contemporaneity” is being held under the auspices of UNESCO and under the support of the Russian Ministry of Culture, Foreign Ministry of the RF, International Foundation “World without Borders”, Moscow City Hall, Department of Culture of the City of Moscow and the Russian Academy of Arts.

This year, the Manezh exhibition hall will host artworks of more than 300 participants from over 40 countries, including Austria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Angola, Bulgaria, Belgium, Brazil, Belarus, Great Britain, Guadeloupe, Vietnam, Germany, Greece, Israel, Spain, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, China, Columbia, Latvia, Lithuania, Lebanon, Mozambique, Mongolia, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, San-Marino, the United States, Turkey, France, Estonia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Japan, etc.

The Festival’s main idea is to show the whole palette of world art - painting, graphic art, sculpture, applied and decorative arts, to feature all trends and directions of today’s culture in one exhibition space, to draw together the art of different countries and peoples reflecting national traditions.

The goal of the Festival is to support gifted artists both well-known masters and young artists, to reveal new names in contemporary art.

Annually, a special International Prize in Fine Arts “Faith” is awarded upon the results of the Festival. According to the tradition, the Festival’s International Jury and Honorary Committee includes distinguished figures of Russian and world culture. This year’s Jury will be represented by the Honorary Director of A. Pushkin State Moscow Museum of Fine Arts, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Irina Antonova; the world renowned French fashion designer, Commander of the National Order of Honor (France), UNESCO Honorary Ambassador Pierre Cardin; Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the International Public Foundation for Support to Culture and Promotion of Modern Art,  Honorary Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Marc Leivikov; international UNESCO Expert George Petrescu; Head of the 20th Century Sculpture Department of the State Tretyakov Gallery Liudmila Marts; People’s Artist of Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli; Russian art critic, Associate Professor of the Chair for Russian Art History of the History Department of the Moscow State University Sergey Khachaturov. The Chairman of the Jury is the People’s Artist of the USSR, Russia and Azerbaijan, Laureate of the State Prizes of the USSR, Azerbaijan and Russia, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Arts Tair Salakhov. The Jury will select the best artists in 18 nominations.

Within the framework of the Festival there will be held a special project “Formalism of the 21st Century” presenting an exhibition of works by artists cooperating with major modern art galleries in various countries. The focus of the Project is to trace how important are classical parameters for an image creation in  today’s pictorial language. The moderator of the Project – Fine Art Gallery, the curator – art critic and historian Sergey Khachaturov. Other projects of the Festival: “The Art of CIS Countries”; “The Far and the Near”; “Doll as an Artwork”; “Good Deeds” (physically challenged artists) and others. A separate section will display works by winners of previous festivals.
