In Moscow Was Unveiled a Memorial Plaque Commemorating Natalya Konchalovskaya

On January 18, 2015 in Moscow there was an unveiling ceremony for a memorial plaque commemorating the writer, poet and translator Natalya Konchalovskaya (1903-1988) placed on the house (35 Povarskaya street) where she had lived for many years. The author of the commemorative plaque is the People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts Alexander Rukavishnikov. The ceremony held on Natalya Konchalovskaya’s birthday was attended by the Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medynsky.

Natalya Konchalovskaya, a daughter of the painter Peter Konchalovsky, granddaughter of Vasily Surikov, wife of the writer Sergey Mikhalkov has been a core of the large Mikhalkov family. She made translations of Shelly, Browning, Wordsworth, stories, cycles of poems, novels, in particular, the famous book “The Precious Gift” about the life and work of Vasili Surikov.
