Unveiling of the Monument to Constantin Stanislavski and Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko in Moscow

On September 3, 2014 in Kamergersky Pereulok in Moscow there was an unveiling ceremony for the monument to the founders of the Moscow Art Theatre Constantin Stanislavski and Vladimir Nemirovich-Danchenko authored by the noted sculptor and architect, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Arts Alexey Morozov.
The 5.2 m tall bronze monument is a two-figured sculptural composition with a stele. At the bottom of the stele there is a board with inscription “Homines, leones, aquilae et perdices, cervi cornigeri…” - beginning of a monologue of Nina Zarechnaya fr om Anton Chekhov’s play “Chaika”.
The monument faces the Tverskaya street brilliantly completing the architectural appearance of the Kamergersky Pereulok. The sculptor Alexey Morozov has worked at the monument in Italy for two years. The bronze sculptures were cast in Pietrasanta (Italy) – the world capital of bronze casting. The granite base was created in Verona (Italy).
The sculptor, painter and architect Alexey Morozov (b. 1974) is a graduate from V. Surikov Moscow State Academy Art Institute wh ere he majored in sculpture. In 1999-2012 he headed the architecture workshop “Morozov Manufacturing”. In 2013 Alexey Morozov became a rector of the Moscow Academic Art College Named After the Year of 1905.
Alexey Morozov is a participant of numerous exhibitions and biennale of modern art in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Paris, Verona, etc. His works are in collections of the State Russian Museum, as well as in private collections in Russia and other countries.
