On July 10, 2014 was opened the first in Moscow Center for Art Therapy (7 Gostinichny Proezd). The history of the Center starts from a meeting of a doctor and an artist - Doctor of Medicine Alexander Kopytin who initiated in Russia the direction of art therapy and the sculptor, Honored Artist of Russia Igor Burganov whose ideas are aimed at the promotion of culture in today’s society and change of self-consciousness through art.
Art therapy is a modern direction of psychological correction and psychological assistance to people. It can be used as part of a medical treatment and preventive measures for complicated psycho-emotional states of healthy people, as well as an aid in critical living situations. The goal of the Center is to attract specialists of art therapy, psychology, social institutions and all those who can help people to recover through art.
