The Chelyabinsk Museum of Arts presents a major retrospective of over 150 works by the People’s Artist of Russia, President of the Russian Academy of Arts, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Zurab Tsereteli. These are canvases, graphic works, sculptural compositions, bronze reliefs and enamels produced by the artist for the last two decades.
For the last several years, the viewers in cities of the Central Region, the Volga Region, the South of Russia, as well as Moscow and St. Petersburg have had an opportunity to get acquainted with the multi-sided work by the world renowned artist Zurab Tsereteli. After Ekaterinburg, his solo show continues its traveling in the Urals in the Chelyabinsk Museum of Arts. It has been organized by the Chelyabinsk Region Ministry of Culture under the auspices by the Chelyabinsk Region Governor.
The Chelyabinsk Regional Picture Gallery (now Chelyabinsk Museum of Arts) established in 1940 is the oldest and largest art museum in the Urals. Today, it houses collections of European, Oriental, and Old Russian Art, as well as over 14 thousands of works of the 20th century Russian art including paintings, drawings, sculptures, masterpieces of the local decorative and applied arts.
