Zurab Tsereteli is prepared to set up branches of the Russian Academy of Arts in all CIS countries if there is an opposite interest. The President of the Academy has told about it to young artists from CIS countries - seventeen students of art departments who visited today Tsereteli Art Gallery in Moscow. The master showed them his latest works himself. This meeting is only a part of a major project implemented under the support of the Interstate Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS member-states. The future sculptors and painters will stay in Moscow for the whole month. The program includes lectures of noted art historians and masterclasses by artists from Russia and other countries.
“Our responsibility is to educate a new generation, to preserve our art school. I am happy to see here young people from CIS countries” – said Zurab Tsereteli.
“It is very interesting to get acquainted with masters from various countries, with their works and techniques” – noted Sherzamon Latipov, a student from Mirzo Tursunadze Institute of Arts (the Republic of Tadjikistan).
