In Honor of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Anton Chekhov

The program “Remembering Chekhov” to be held in the White Hall of the Russian Academy of Arts (21 Prechistenka street, Moscow) on February 19, 2010 is devoted to the 150th birth anniversary of the celebrated Russian short-story writer, dramatist and physician Anton Chekhov.

The program includes:

- Lecture “Chekhov and Russian Fine Arts”  by G.S. Churak, Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation, Head of the Department of the State Tretyakov Gallery;
- Documentary film “Anton Pavlovich Chekhov”, Caravan Studio, Director –Yakov Nazarov;
- Anton Chekhov’s Story “The House with Mezzanine” to be performed by the theater –studio “Museum of Man”,  Stage Director – Anatoly Gurov;
- Music by Alexander Skryabin and Sergei Rakhmaninov to be played by winners of international music contests.
