The exhibition presents paintings and graphic works by Stanislav Benedictov, the Chief Artist of the Russian Academic Youth Theater, People’s Artist of Russia, Laureate of K.S. Stanislavski State Prize of Russia, Winner of the Moscow City Prize, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Professor of the Chair for the Set Design Technology of the Moscow Art Theater School-Studio.

Stanislav Benedictov (b. in Moscow in 1944) is one of the best set designers in Russia. He worked for the Moscow Art Theater, Maly Theater, K.S. Stanislavski and V.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Music Theater, the Kremlin Ballet, Opera Theater in Sophia, Freundshaft Theater in Berlin, National Theater in Reykjavik. Well known in Russia are his stage designs for performances of theaters in Kirov, Novosibirsk, Perm and other cities.

Stanislav Benedictov is a frequent participant in group exhibitions of Moscow artists, All-Russian exhibitions of set designers and annual exhibitions “The End of the Season”. His works have been exhibited in the Bolshoi and Maly Manezh, the Embassy of Iceland, the House of Artists in the Kuznetski Most and Krymsky Val, the Actor’s House.

In 2016 Stanislav Benedictov was awarded a special prize “For Outstanding Service to Children’s Theaters”, in 2017 received an Honorary Mention from the President of the Russian Federation for his significant contribution to the promotion of culture and fruitful activity.
