The Library of the  Russian Academy of Arts hosts a book exhibition dedicated to the 110th birth anniversary of  Konstantin Rozhdestvensky (1906-1997) - People’s Artist of Russia, Academician of the USSR Academy of Arts, Member of the Presidium, Academician-Secretary of the Department of  Decorative and Applied Arts 0f the USSR Academy of Arts, Secretary of the Board of Directors of the USSR Union of Artists, Member of the Board of Directors of the USSR Union of Architects, Member of the Editorial Board of the “USSR Decorative Art” magazine.

He graduated from the State Institute of Art Culture in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), was a member of the group “Plastic Realism” including pupils and followers of Kazimir Malevich.

His creative work is extremely multi-sided. Having an exceptional artistic talent, he worked as a painter, graphic artist, artist of decorative and applied arts, but his main activity focused on the design for expositions of large-scale exhibitions and museum art shows.

Konstantin Rozhdestvensky has headed large creative teams, which under his leadership created famous exhibition expositions in Soviet pavilions  at World and International exhibitions, as well as major art shows in this country. He shared his rich experience in exhibition activity in his book “Ensemble Exposition” (Leningrad, 1970).
